Elner "EC" and LuVerne Monson spent their careers as educators in North Dakota. Their children pursued careers in education as well. Now, LuVerne, along with her family and friends, wish to offer support to others pursuing careers in education ... the Comet way, or our motto, "personal service" personified in an endowment.
Earnings on the endowment principal will be used to provide financial assistance to a student(s) pursuing an education degree at Mayville State.
Preferred eligibility: Hatton or Blecourt, North Dakota, resident; education major; 3.0 grade point average or better.
The scholarship shall be selected each year by the Mayville State University Financial Aid Committee, in consultation with MSU Foundation personnel and the Division of Education.
