A Mayville State Hall of Famer

A 1962 Mayville State graduate, Donald "Mac" McIntyre was inducted into the Mayville State Atheltic Hall of Fame in 1984. Don was a native of Cavalier, N.D. He lettered in four sports for the Comets from 1956-1960. He played football for three years, and was all NDCAC in three of the four years. He lettered in basketball, played baseball for three years, and was an excellent high jumper and javelin thrower in track. 

"Mac" was captain of the basketball team during his senior year. He played on three conference championship baseball teams and on the 196061 conference championship basketball team. He set a league record in field goals in 1959 with 140 and was the leading NDCAC scorer with 364 points.

As a baseball pitcher, he had a major league tryout with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
