Mayville State University's agribusiness program serves students by providing coursework, career field experiences, and a degree that will lead to successful and rewarding careers in agribusiness. The goal is to prepare students for the challenges facing them in the diverse and ever-changing agribusiness environment. The agribusiness coursework draws upon and builds collaborative relationships with area schools, employers, ag producers, and the communities contributing to the economic growth and vitality of northeastern North Dakota. The Mayville State University agribusiness degree program serves students via traditional on-campus, online, and hybrid delivery methods to provide students the skills they need to compete and succeed.
The Program
The program provides students with the coursework, career field experiences, and skills necessary to prepare them for successful careers in agriculture and agribusiness-related industries. A degree in agribusiness provides endless career opportunities. Our agribusiness curriculum focuses on the management skills needed to succeed in small and medium-sized agribusinesses, including the profitable operation of farms and ranches. Agriculture today is a high-tech industry, continually evolving to meet the changing needs of a growing world population. Success in agribusiness requires more than just knowledge of agricultural methods - it requires an understanding of economics, finance, marketing, technology, and entrepreneurship.
Upon program completion, students are prepared to work in sales, ag cooperatives, banking, finance, farm and ranch management, and other agribusiness-related fields.
