Free rapid antigen COVID-19 testing available at Mayville State
Mayville State University is providing an opportunity for all students, faculty, and staff to use BinaxNOW Tests on an ongoing basis. The BinaxNow Test is a form of rapid antigen COVID-19 test and provides results in approximately 15 minutes. The BinaxNOW tests will be available for all ASYMPTOMATIC individuals at Mayville State University. You may review symptoms of COVID-19 by clicking here.

Those taking the Binax NOW test will be required to watch BinaxNOW Testing Modules 1-4 (approximately 10 minutes total) prior to testing. Please click here to access the modules.
The North Dakota Department of Health will provide test results on the same day by text, email, or phone call. If a person tests positive, they should isolate immediately and complete the Mayville COVID Report Form. A case investigator will be in touch with you within 24 hours.
Please note that rapid tests are not a replacement for traditional PCR testing. The sensitivity of rapid antigen tests varies but is generally lower than a PCR test. The antigen level in specimens collected either before symptom onset, or late in the course of infection, may be below the limit of detection of the virus by a rapid antigen test, resulting in a false negative test as compared to a PCR test. PCR Tests will continue to be available and are considered the ideal method of testing as the results are highly accurate. It may take 48 hours or longer to receive PCR test results.
