MSU Golf Classic

The 40th Annual Mayville State University Golf Classic is scheduled for June 12 and 13, 2015 at Detroit Lakes, Minn. Each year, alumni and friends from across the country make Detroit Lakes their destination the second weekend in June for golfing, making new friendships, and renewing old friendships. If you don't play golf, just come and visit, participate in the Friday night scholarship event, and enjoy the weekend.

Friday Scramble


The weekend kicks off with a 4-person scramble at the Forest Hills Golf & RV Resort, 22931 185th St., Hwy 10, Detroit Lakes, Minn. The scramble begins with a shotgun start at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 12. There is a burger bar following the golf event. Women are encouraged to participate. Proceeds from this event go to Comet Athletic Club, providing scholarships for Mayville State student athletes.

Registration deadline is June 7.

Scholarship Event & Social


All friends and alumni of Mayville State are invited to participate in this annual get-together at the Detroit Country Club Dining Room. The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. and should wrap up about 9:00 p.m.

The Classic


The Mayville State University Alumni Golf Classic is scheduled for Saturday, June 13. It is the oldest medal play university alumni golf tournament in the world.

Start time: If 90 or more participants register to participate in the tournament, shotgun start will be at 9 a.m. If fewer than 90 register, start time will be 1 p.m. To give organizers ample time to notify golfers of which starting time will be used, registration deadline is Friday, May 29, 2015. Players will be notified of the start time by email, if they provide their email address when registering.

Luncheon for Women


All interested Mayville State women are invited to gather and have lunch Saturday, June 13 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Speak Easy in Detroit Lakes (1100 N Shore Dr.). No host breakfast from the menu.
