Mayville State alumni and friends and all community members are invited to view current schematic design plans and renderings for the Old Main renovation project on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at 7 p.m. in the MSU Classroom Building Auditorium. Representatives of Foss Architecture + Interiors will be present. Those interested may participate in person or online. To join the online meeting, find a link at https://fossarch.com/oldmain/.

Mayville State was fortunate to be granted $52 million in state funding for the renovation of Old Main during the legislative session in 2023.

“We are extremely grateful for the support and generosity of the 68th Legislative Assembly whose work made this important project possible,” said Mayville State University President Dr. Brian Van Horn. “Through the legislative process, our District 20 legislators, Representatives Jared Hagert and Mike Beltz and Senator Randy Lemm, played a key role in underscoring the significance of this project for Mayville State University. We appreciate their work and thank the entire legislative body for their efforts.”

Preliminary work on the Old Main renovation project began in the summer of 2023, and project completion is slated for the summer of 2026. A very important part of the design process has been to gather information from students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members locally and beyond. The information collected in various meetings held with these constituents is being used as the architects are formulating their plans.

Throughout the renovation process, information about the project will be available at www.mayvillestate.edu/oldmain. At this site, you’ll find a link to the Foss Architecture web presence dedicated to the project, as well as information from the local Mayville State perspective.
