Mayville State Master of Education (M.Ed.) programs feature:
Flexible Online Format. All M.Ed. courses are delivered online, making it convenient for licensed teachers and professionals to pursue graduate-level education while balancing work and personal commitments.
Accelerated Completion Options. Courses are arranged in 8-week blocks, allowing students to take up to three courses at a time and potentially complete a degree in as little as one year.
Three Specialized Tracks.
- Adult Teaching and Learning (32 credits)
- Innovative Teaching Practices (32 credits)
- Special Education (34 credits), which prepares educators for licensure and leadership roles in special education settings.
Customizable Study Plans. Students can choose between part-time and full-time enrollment, with a course rotation model that supports personalized academic planning.
Career Advancement & Broader Impact. The program is designed not only for K-12 educators, but also for professionals in other fields who aim to enhance teaching and learning within their organizations.
Mayville State's Special Education Programs and Options:
Flexible Degree Options. Students can pursue a Bachelor of Science in Education (B.S.Ed.) in Special Education either as a standalone degree or as a double major with Early Childhood, Elementary Education, or Secondar Education.
Online Accessibility. The Special Education program is designed to be entirely online, allowing students who are working professionals to earn their degree or licensure remotely. Courses are offered during summer, fall, and spring semesters. For the traditional student, the program has course offerings that are offered online and on campus.
Career Versatility. The program equips students to work in schools, human service agencies, adult education, and community-home support roles. It emphasizes ethical practice, collaboration, and the use of technology in specialized settings.
Fast-Track and Certificate Options. In addition to the B.S.Ed., Mayville State offers a Special Education Minor, a Certificate, and a Fast-Track Option for quicker completion. These are ideal for licensed teachers seeking additional endorsements or career changers entering the field.
3+1 Option. As an undergraduate who also wants to pursue a mater's degree in special education, there is a 3+1 option, earning your undergraduate and master's in four years.
Outstanding new scholarship opportunities!
Beginning with the Spring Semester of 2026, Mayville State will have generous scholarships available for new students who are seeking undergraduate or graduate Special Education programming, and new students who are seeking master's degrees in Education. These scholarships are offered on top of the Honor Scholarship, which is awarded to all new first-year and transfer students based on grade point average.
