The Comets volleyball team won an at-large bid and will compete in the opening round of the NAIA National Volleyball Tournament April 17. This is the first time in Mayville State history for a volleyball team to make it to the national tournament. The Comets will face the Warriors of Midland University in Fremont, Neb. The match begins at 2 p.m. CT.

Radio-a-thon fundraiser and sendoff event

The Comets will head south for Fremont at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 15. We invite you to join us for a radio-a-thon and sendoff event planned in the Lewy Lee Fieldhouse prior to their departure.

Mayville-Portland's local radio station will be conducting interviews with all players, coaches, and administrators from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Listen locally on 1520 AM and on 98.9 FM. The radio-a-thon will also be streamed at https://99kmsr.com/.

During the radio-a-thon, you'll have an opportunity to call in, visit with a player, and make a pledge to help defray the expenses associated with attending the national tournament.

A formal sendoff program will begin at 9:30 a.m.

Come to the Lewy Lee and rally around the team and coaches. Wish them well as they represent Mayville State University on the national level!

Watch party

Because of COVID-19 concerns, we won't be able to offer a fan bus, and tickets to attend the match in person will be limited. 

The Mayville State Alumni Association and Foundation will host a watch party for those who wish to cheer for the Comets from afar. Match time is 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17. We'll gather in the Classroom Building Auditorium to watch on the big screen. Light refreshments will be available. Everyone is welcome!
