Jennifer Andrade is a senior from Honduras who is pursuing a degree in Psychology. Jennifer is involved in choir, CRU, Intercultural Club, and Student Ambassadors, and she is doing an internship as an undergraduate assistant in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. Jennifer says choosing MSU has been one of the best decisions of her life as Mayville has become her second home. She has grown as a person and met beautiful people. Jennifer also says that studying abroad allows her to sit at the table with people from around the world and experience different cultures in many ways. It also gives her the opportunity to share her own culture. For example, she likes to prepare her favorite ethnic meal to share with a group of friends and then spend time discussing experiences, beliefs, and dreams. Her Mayville State mentor is Professor Lona Smith, who has been a super-special person for her ever since they met. Jennifer said, “She has been one of the people who has always been there for me, giving me her unconditional support. I am fortunate to have her in my life.” Jennifer has these words of advice, “Every time you have doubts about your future, think about how far you have come. Remember everything you have faced, all the battles you have won, and all the fears you have overcome.”
