In honor of Women’s History Month, a concert featuring music by all female composers will be held Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. in the Mayville State University Classroom Building Auditorium. The concert, consisting of music spanning more than four centuries, will showcase Mayville State University students, the Drama Queens, and Callie (Berg) Stadem. Freewill donations to support Mayville State University Music Department events will be taken at the door.
Callie Stadem is a composer, vocalist, and harpist. She is a native of Northwood, N.D., and will be graduating with a master’s degree in music composition from the University of North Dakota this spring. The Drama Queens (Joan Osland, Samantha DeLong, Teresa Agnes, Kathy Baldock, and Greta Paschke) are well-known in the Mayville-Portland community for their productions of all-female musicals such as “Nunsense” and “Beehive.”
