Mayville State University faculty and staff are gearing up for the Fall Semester of 2021 and look forward to welcoming new and returning students beginning on Saturday, Aug. 21. Fall Semester 2021 classes begin at 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23. The first full day of classes is Tuesday, Aug. 24.

Welcome Week activities begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, when the residence halls open. The Bookstore will be open from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on that day, and the Dining Center will be open from noon to 1 p.m. and 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.

Check-in at the residence halls will continue throughout the weekend. Students arriving after Sunday should email student.life@mayvillestate.edu to let us know your plans.  

Throughout the weekend, there will be informative and fun events planned for students. Students will be able to take care of business and do things like get a campus mailbox and/or ID. There are lots of plans for fun too! Peer Leaders will sponsor yard games after dinner on Saturday, and a street dance will be the grand finale for the day.

Sunday activities will include Student Success Seminars and a drive in/blanket movie night at the football practice field.

The week of Aug. 23 will be filled with things to do, including going to classes. Events planned during the week are a Student Success Scavenger Hunt, COVID-19 vaccine clinic, Night at Island Park, and more.

International Book Award-winning poet Carlos Andres Gomez will speak Monday, Aug. 23 at 7:15 in the Old Main Theatre; and motivational storyteller Roderick “Odd?Rod” Borasade will share his story of perseverance and how he has overcome adversity on Tuesday, Aug. 24.
