At Mayville State, students have many opportunities to get involved with clubs, organizations, and activities that provide invaluable leadership experience. Engaged hands-on learning is an important quality of the Mayville State experience.
The cost to attend Mayville State University is affordable. Tuition and fees for a North Dakota resident are $7,979 per year. Financial aid is available, along with opportunities to earn scholarships.
A complete renovation of Mayville State’s flagship building, Old Main, is underway. The exterior of the building will retain its historic characteristics, while the interior will be transformed for educating the students of the 21st century, providing state-of-the-art classroom facilities, greater accessibility, and better efficiency. The renovation honors Old Main's legacy as a cornerstone of the Mayville State University campus, while growing into the future as the university continues to meet the needs of students and prepare them for success in the classroom and beyond. The project is slated for completion in the summer of 2026.
In addition, a remodeling project at the Campus Center is nearly complete. The new space includes the campus bookstore, student lounge space, a vending area, and more. Legacy Plaza, a beautiful new outdoor space on campus, provides patios, gardens, and seating areas where students and others may gather for studying, relaxing, and socializing.
Mayville State provides for the education and development of the whole student with an immersive experience both in and out of the classroom. The seven pillars of the Mayville State Experience include intellectual development; personal growth; volunteerism; community involvement; character development; social, emotional, and personal development; and leadership development. All of this happens in a safe, family-like environment, where the importance of civic values is impressed upon students.
