We lost an important and beloved member of the Mayville State Family with the passing of Katie Richards, who died in a car accident early Thursday, Nov. 2. Katie was Director of Student Success and Disability Services at Mayville State. She was the right person in the right job. She positively impacted students, faculty, and staff daily, and she was an effective and respected leader who assisted students in their goals to achieve solid academic progress. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her family, the entire Mayville State Family, and our community at large, as the tragic loss of Katie will be felt by all.
Services
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023 at the Mayville-Portland School, Mayville, N.D. A reception will be held for one hour after the service at the school. Interment will be at 3:30 p.m. in the Hope Cemetery, Hope, N.D. with fellowship after in the Hope Legion, Hope, N.D.
