Mayville State University’s annual Spring Fling festivities are planned for March 1 through March. 7. The week will be filled with a number of activities for students, as well as some that are open to the public. A highlight of Spring Fling will be the crowning of the Spring Fling king and queen at a coronation program that will be held Sunday evening, March 3, beginning at 8:00 p.m. in the MSU Classroom Building Auditorium. The public is invited to attend.

Members of the Spring Fling royal court are selected by various clubs and organizations on the campus. This year’s king candidates are Eric Domier, Mayville, N.D., representing Collegiate DECA; Nick Atkinson, East Chicago, Ind., representing Computer Technology Club; Nick Schaefer, Devils Lake, N.D., representing HPER Club; Rochester Mugumbate, Harare, Zimbabwe, representing Multicultural Club; Ryan Bergeron, Greenbush, Minn., representing MSU Theater; Breon Quintero, Bismarck, N.D., representing Residence Hall Association; Michael Voller, Hatton, N.D., representing Science Club; Charlie Wells, Grygla, Minn., representing Student Education Association; and Thomas Smette, Granville, N.D., representing Student Senate.

Queen candidates are Kiah Smith, Lansford, N.D., representing Collegiate DECA; Kara Greenwood, Woodland Park, Colo., representing HPER Club; Sarah Gandari, Harare, Zimbabwe, representing Multicultural Club; Patricia Lopez, Clarissa, Minn., representing MSU Theater; Laura Ewert, Devils Lake, N.D. representing Residence Hall Association; Shelby Mullivan, Beulah, N.D., representing Science Club; Emma Grant, West Fargo, N.D., representing Student Education Association; Danielle Dodd, Grand Forks, N.D., representing Student Activities Council; and Kristin Domier, Forest River, N.D., representing Student Senate.

Spring Fling 2013 will kick off with a dance for students Friday evening, March 1.

A show by comedian Jessi Campbell will be held in the MSU Classroom Building Auditorium, beginning at 8:00 p.m. Tues., March 5. The performance is open to the public. There is no admission charge, but cash donations for the local food pantry will be accepted.

Mayville State’s annual talent show is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. Wed., March 5. The public is welcome to attend the show which will feature the talents of Mayville State student performers. There is no admission charge. The talent show will be held in the MSU Classroom Building Auditorium.

Spring Fling festivities will wrap up Thursday evening, March 7 with a Just Dance competition for Mayville State students.
