The Mayville State University Student Education Association is hosting a Literacy Day for area elementary school-age children, kindergarten through fifth grade, Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9 to 11 a.m. Children and their parents are invited to attend the event, which will be held in the Education Building on the Mayville State University campus. Registration is from 8:30 to 9 a.m. Activities will conclude at 11 a.m.

Students in kindergarten through third grade will spend the morning exploring with Pete the Cat and his white shoes. Students in fourth and fifth grades should come ready to research and explore what it would be like to visit historic Medora, North Dakota. Activities for both age groups will include reading and writing activities, along with games.
