Mayville State football supporters were able to not only meet, but exceed, a challenge issued by an anonymous Mayville State University donor in August. The donor came forward for a fourth time, challenging all Mayville State alumni and friends to make financial contributions to Mayville State Football. The donor promised to match dollar-for-dollar all gifts made to support Mayville State Football Aug. 13 through Nov. 12, 2022, up to a total of $20,000.

Mel Groetch, Mayville State graduate and faithful supporter of her alma mater, put the fundraising total over the top of the challenge amount with her gift and membership in the White Hat Club. Groetsch is from Katy, Texas.

All funds raised in the challenge will assist the Mayville State University football program through the work of the White Hat Club.

“This influx of funding will have a big impact in our efforts to build the Mayville State football program,” said Mayville State University Head Football Coach Rocky Larson. “We sincerely appreciate the thoughtfulness and generosity of the anonymous donor who issued the challenge and all who accepted the challenge with their financial support.”
