John Klocke will return to the position of executive director of the MSU Foundation at Mayville State University beginning on Jan. 18, 2018. Klocke’s primary responsibilities will include planning, coordinating and executing comprehensive fundraising efforts for Mayville State. He will oversee major and planned gifts and assist with grant proposals. Klocke had previously served as executive director of the MSU Foundation from February of 2012 until September of 2017. He returns after a short stint with the North Dakota State University Alumni Foundation.

“We are delighted that John will be back on the Mayville State University team,” said Mayville State University President Dr. Gary Hagen. “His financial experience and fundraising knowledge will continue to be invaluable as we work to bring Mayville State University to new levels. John has developed wonderful relationships and has proven to be very successful in his efforts on behalf of Mayville State University. The foundation has experienced record growth during the last five years, when the endowment grew from less than $2 million to $7 million, and we look forward to seeing these upward trends continue.”

Klocke has more than 25 years of experience in the charitable giving field and has served several North Dakota charities, including The Village Family Service Center, Jamestown Community Hospital, and The Fargo-Moorhead Symphony. Klocke was also employed for five years as the North Dakota representative of Catholic United Financial, a fraternal life insurance company. In this role, he assisted families with estate, financial, and charitable planning needs.

Klocke holds the FICF (Fraternal Insurance Counselor Fellow) advanced counselor designation and also earned the CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive) designation in fundraising, signifying an advanced level of experience and training in the areas of annual, major, and planned giving.
