The science and math faculty at Mayville State University have established the Jeff Sieg Memorial Scholarship to honor and remember the impact Jeff Sieg, a long-time teacher of science at Mayville State University, had on his colleagues and students. The scholarship will be awarded to a Mayville State University student who is majoring in a science-related field.

Jeff Sieg was a dedicated, passionate, and caring friend to those who were fortunate enough to know him. During his 30+ years in education he influenced hundreds of students by nurturing a passion for science, removing any fear of science, and encouraging them to become the best possible version of themselves. It is because of his ability to connect with people that Jeff’s legacy in education and at Mayville State University is so broad, impactful, and long-lasting. Sadly, Jeff passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 12, 2019.

Gifts are currently being accepted for the Jeff Sieg Memorial Scholarship endowment. They will help to ensure that Jeff Sieg’s legacy will live on forever at Mayville State, since only earnings on the endowment will be awarded in scholarships. The principal will remain in perpetuity.

Gifts to the Jeff Sieg Memorial Scholarship Fund are eligible for a 50% match from the North Dakota Challenge Grant program. A gift of $100 becomes $150 through Challenge Grant funding.
