Mayville State University alumnus Dondrei Hubbard has signed a Minor League Baseball contract with the Washington Nationals and has been invited to spring training. Games start on March 17 and will go through April 4. The Washington Nationals spring training facility is in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Hubbard played baseball and football at Mayville State in 2016 and 2017. He played in 107 baseball games and recorded a .388 batting average, 135 hits, 30 doubles, 5 triples, 14 home runs, 100 runs batted in, 25 walks, and 17 stolen bases.

Since his graduation in 2017, Hubbard has bounced around independent baseball, playing in 152 games and recording 189 hits, 40 doubles, 38 home runs, 143 runs batted in, 26 stolen bases, a .327 batting average, and a .397 on-base percentage.
