The public is cordially invited to enjoy music, refreshments, and more at a traditional Christmas open house planned for Saturday, Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at the Edson and Margaret Larson Alumni and Leadership Center at Mayville State University. There will be fun for all ages. Kids are encouraged to bring their parents and grandparents and stop by to see Santa and Mrs. Claus, who will be making their lists and handing out treats. Kids will have an opportunity to work on a craft project to take home too! The Edson and Margaret Larson Alumni and Leadership Center is located at the corner of Third Avenue and Stan Dakken Drive on the campus of Mayville State University.

Dec. 10 is also the date for the MSU Foundation Poinsettia Ball. The evening will include dancing, socializing, an hors d’oeuvres buffet, and cash bar. Socializing will begin at 6 p.m. Dancing will begin at 7 p.m. and continue until 11 p.m. The Poinsettia Ball will be held in the MSU Campus Center Luckasen Room. The fabulous Downtown Horns will be providing the music. Dress is semi-formal and those attending must be age 21 or older.

Guests at the Poinsettia Ball will have a chance to win a fabulous pendant and earrings set donated by Riddle’s Jewelry of Grand Forks. In addition, the Sparkling Christmas Tree Raffle is new to the Poinsettia Ball this year. Those who attend the ball will have the opportunity to play. Participants could win a grand prize diamond pendant donated by Riddle’s Jewelry and/or many other prizes donated by generous Mayville State supporters.
