Mike Hanson, Career and Technical Education Director at the North Valley Career and Technology Center, Grafton, N.D., was presented with the NDCTEA Administrator of the Year award at the 51st annual Department of Career and Technical Education Professional Development Conference held in Bismarck in August. Hanson earned a bachelor’s degree in business education from Mayville State University in 2003.

The NDCTEA Administrator of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding member who has contributed to the organization and positively impacted career and technical education. The program annually honors secondary or post-secondary career and technical education leaders who have succeeded in providing high-quality learning opportunities for students as well as demonstrated exemplary contributions to the profession.

The North Valley Career and Technology Center provides career and technical education to high school students and adults living in the Grafton, N.D. area. Students are prepared for employment through related education and training programs and include instruction in basic education, career development, general vocational knowledge, family living skills, and specific occupational skill training.

Hanson is grateful for his Mayville State experiences and the role mentors Terry Kemmer and Mary Iverson played in his education.
