A full slate of activities is planned for Mayville State’s Homecoming 2022, October 7 and 8. The schedule includes opportunities to honor alumni and friends, socialize, watch some football and volleyball, and more.

Festivities will begin Friday, Oct. 7 with a social at the Edson and Margaret Larson Alumni and Leadership Center from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The Athletic Hall of Fame and Athletic Coaches Hall of Fame Dinner will follow, at 6 p.m., in the MSU Campus Center Luckasen Room. Athletic Hall of Fame inductees are the 1989-90 men’s basketball team, Kelly Christianson, Gerry Falk, and James Lewis. Hank Biesiot, Mark Carter, Rick Christianson, Jim Dew, Tim Kolsrud, and Randy Vigen will be recognized as Athletic Coaches Hall of Fame inductees. Tickets for the banquet sell for $30 and are available at www.mayvillestate.edu/homecoming or at the MSU Foundation office.

A social for all alumni and friends will be held at the Mayville Golf Club following the banquet. A special invitation is extended to the members of the Jerome Berg football teams.

Saturday, Oct. 8 will begin with a brunch to honor this year’s Distinguished Alumni and Distinguished Service Award recipients. Dr. Joe Eisenmann, Dr. Ron Reilkoff, and Jim Richardson will be presented with the Distinguished Alumni Award. Pam Soholt and Cleone Whelan will receive the Distinguished Service Award. The brunch begins at 9 a.m. in the MSU Campus Center Luckasen Room. Tickets for the brunch are $20 and may be purchased at www.mayvillestate.edu/homecoming or at the MSU Foundation office.

Several Athletic Hall of Fame teams are marking anniversaries in five-year increments in 2022. They will be the guests of honor at the Hall of Fame on the 5s Reunion scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at “The Grove” tailgating area northwest of Mayville State’s Jerome Berg Field. A special invitation is extended to the members of the 1965 and 1990 football teams; the 1961-62 men’s basketball team; and the 1988 baseball team and their friends.

The traditional Ceremony of Remembrance at the Military Honor Garden will begin at noon on the grounds at the Edson and Margaret Larson Alumni and Leadership Center. All are invited to honor the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.  

Mayville State will host Waldorf University in the homecoming football game. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. at Jerome Berg Field.

Comet Volleyball will host Dickinson State beginning at 4 p.m. at the Lewy Lee Fieldhouse.
