“We are delighted to have these generous friends of Mayville State join us as sponsors of the Farmers Bowl festivities,” said interim MSU Foundation executive director Beth Swenson. “Sept. 14 promises to be a special day at Mayville State and in the community, and we are so very grateful for our supporters who are partnering with us for the much-anticipated annual event that celebrates the proud agricultural heritage of the area."

The MSU Foundation has a full slate of activities planned for Farmers Bowl 2019.

The day will begin with the Farmers Bowl parade featuring farm equipment, bands, antique vehicles, and floats. The parade will form up in downtown Mayville, north of the Goose River Bank. At 10 a.m., the parade will start to make its way through town on Main Street, ending at Jerome Berg Field on the Mayville State campus. To register an entry in the parade, call 701-788-4864 or email stacy.buchl@mayvillestate.edu.

Following the parade, everyone is welcome to enjoy corn on the cob and hot dogs under the tent located west of Jerome Berg Field. The Mayville State athletic teams and coaches are coordinating this year’s corn and hot dog feed. Freewill donations will be accepted.

There will be plenty of family fun at the Farmers Bowl Fair which will include inflatable games and a farmers market. The fun begins at 10:30 a.m. and will continue until noon. There is no charge to participate in the Farmers Bowl Fair.

The Comets will host Trinity Bible College in the Farmers Bowl football game. Kickoff is at noon at Jerome Berg Field. The Comets will be wearing their new commemorative Farmers Bowl helmets, which feature a wheat motif. Donors to the Farmers Bowl helmet project will be recognized at half time of the game.

The Mayville State volleyball team will also play home games on Sept. 14. The Comets will host Lakehead University at the Lewy Lee Fieldhouse. Game time is 3:30 p.m.

The grand finale for Farmers Bowl 2019 will be the Farmers Bowl Silent Auction and Comet Athletic Club Sportsmen’s Raffle event which will take place at the Mayville Armory. The fun starts at 5 p.m. Socializing and bidding on the silent auction will begin at that time. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. Drawings in the Sportsmen’s Raffle 50-gun giveaway will begin at 7 p.m. Throughout the evening there will be opportunities to participate in drawings for prize packages, cash, and more. Attendees must be 21 years of age or older.

Those who wish to attend the event, but not participate in the Sportsmen’s Raffle 50-gun giveaway may purchase a meal-only ticket for $25. Tickets are available at the MSU Bookstore and the MSU Foundation office. Everyone who purchases a meal ticket will be eligible for a drawing for a $250 Scheels gift card.

Admission to the event is included for those who purchase a ticket for the gun raffle, which gives them a one-in-ten chance of winning a gun. See more at www.mayvillestate.edu/sportsmensraffle.

Proceeds of the Farmers Bowl silent auction will benefit the students of Mayville State University through the work of the Comet Athletic Club, the MSU Alumni Association, and the MSU Foundation. Proceeds of the Sportsmen’s Raffle will provide scholarship assistance to Mayville State’s student athletes via the Comet Athletic Club.
