Mayville State University’s online education programs have grown tremendously! We offer online and IVN (interactive video network) courses to dual credit students who are earning college and high school credit simultaneously. This gives the students a head start on their college educations. In addition, we serve non-degree-seeking students, as well as those who are working toward earning degrees.
The Mayville State University Division of Education considers partnerships and professionalism to be of utmost importance. This is evidenced by increasing student enrollments, continuous program improvement, preparation for the division’s upcoming Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) accreditation visit, outreach for K-12 schools and community events, and faculty collaborative work for local, state, regional, and national committees and conferences.
The Mayville State University Staff Senate organized a campus clean up event in preparation for the first Student Success Day sessions held Friday, June 7. Staff gathered at the Campus Center Thursday afternoon, June 6, to get gloves and trash bags, then set out across campus to collect trash they found on the grounds. They spent about 30 minutes covering the campus, then gathered at the front of Old Main for water and socializing.
The Mayville State Athletic Department has released the 2019 Athletic Director Honor Roll, recognizing 107 student-athletes for their academic achievements throughout the 2018-19 academic year. To qualify for this honor, student-athletes must be active participants on an athletic team and achieve a Grade Point Average of 3.0 or above.
Summer activities are in full swing at Mayville State University. Jamie Eriksson and her campus grounds summer crew are busy sprucing up and planting flowers around the campus. Things are coming together, and it’s looking great! Volunteers Mike and Joan Osland and Doug Anderson were on campus on June 4 to get the Military Honor Garden shaped up and to re-work an area on the southwest corner of the Larson Alumni and Leadership Center that had to be torn up a couple of times last fall and this spring to make plumbing repairs at the building. We are so grateful for these willing and able volunteers, as well as our facilities staff who are helping to beautify the campus.
