Out-of-State Students Interested in Online Degree Programs and Classes from Mayville State University

State laws require colleges and universities to be authorized to offer online degree programs in states other than their own.  Below is a list of states where Mayville State University is authorized to offer online degree programs and the status of pending authorization requests.  Please pay careful attention to the programs available in your state.

Full Authorization for All Online Programs--NC-SARA

Mayville State University is a member of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA).  SARA is an agreement among member states, districts and territories that establishes comparable national standards for interstate offering of post-secondary distance education courses and programs.  The following states are also members:

Note on Programs With Clinical or Practicum/Student Teaching Experiences

The RN to BSN Nursing Program is a post-licensure program.  However, it does require one clinical component in NURS 442: Population Focused and Community-based Nursing Care II.  Applicants from outside North Dakota should speak with program staff to complete paperwork for placement.

The Bachelor of Science in Education in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, and Mathematics Education fulfill licensing requirements in the State of North Dakota and North Dakota is part of the National Association of Directors of Teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC) Interstate agreement. If you plan to seek licensure in your state of residence, it is your responsibility to contact your state's licensure board to determine if this program will meet their requirements.  The Office of Extended Learning and Teacher Education Department can work with out of state students on an individual basis to fulfill licensing requirements.
