Center-based Head Start (HS)

Center-based Head Start (HS) is a 9 month (August-May) federally funded program, which provides a comprehensive children development program for children age’s three to five. Head Start Center-Based services is offered at no charge to income and age eligible families from 8:30am to 3:00pm, with wrap around child care offered at an hourly fee which is the responsibility of the family.

Center-based Early Head Start (EHS)

Center-based Early Head Start (EHS) is a year-around federally funded program, which provides a comprehensive children development program for children ages birth to three and pregnant women. EHS Center-based services is offered at no charge to income and age eligible families from 8:30am to 3:00pm, with wrap around child care offered at an hourly fee which is the responsibility of the family.

Early Head Start/Child Care Partnership (EHS/CCP)

Earlhy Head Start/Child Care Partnership (EHS/CCP) is a year-around federally funded program. This program allows the MSU CDP to partnership with existing child care facilities to help ensure quality care for children ages 0-3. EHS/CCP offers care at no charge to income and age eligible families during the operations hours of the child care facility. Enrolled families are asked to apply for Child Care Assistant Program through the state of ND as we are currently partnering with them to provide these services.

Home-based program

The home-based program serves  Early Head Start families within our services area. Families receive week home-visits and bi-monthly socialization opportunities. Home-based provides the same services and activities as the center-based services within the enrolled family’s home.

Prenatal Early Head Start

Prenatal Early Head Start services provides expectant mothers and family’s support on issues related to pregnancy, with a minimum of monthly home visits and bi-monthly socializations opportunities.

Child Care program

The child care program offers an integrated classroom approach where children enrolled in this program receive daily care and education for their children. Child care is a monthly fee based program.

Collaborative Pre-K

Our Collaborative Pre-k program is a 9 month (August-May) option which provides children preparing for kindergarten the skills to be successful in school. The Collaborative Pre-K program offers HS and Child Care slots within school district and operates Monday-Thursday following the school districts hours. An integrated classroom approach, where children enrolled in child care receive the same opportunities as those enrolled in the Head Start program, is used in this program.

Collaborative-Combination Pre-K

The Collaborative-Combination Pre-K Program is also a 9 month (August-May) option which provides children preparing for kindergarten the skills to be successful in school. The Collaborative-Combination program offers HS and Child Care slots within local school districts and operate Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday, following the school districts hours. An integrated classroom approach, where children enrolled in child care receive the same opportunities as those enrolled in the Head Start program, is used in this program.

CHEERS Program

The CHEERS program is available to kindergarten to 5th grade children which provides school age children with an environment which will allow them to make appropriate choices during "free time". Children also have the opportunity for indoor/outdoor play, snacks, organized enrichment activites, quiet time and supervised homework time.

 

All children and their families enrolled at the MSU CDP are involved with all HS and EHS components including health, nutrition, family services, parent involvement, and child development with an integrated approach. Children with disabilities are encouraged to apply for the program. All staff of the MSU CDP will support and assist all families with any goals they choose to strive for.

The Mayville State University Child Development Programs does not provide transportation at any of the sites
