Fall 2014 Online/Distance Class Information

Welcome to Mayville State University!

The Mayville State University Office of Extended Learning exists to assist students with all their distance and online education needs. If you don't intend to enroll for Fall 2014, please send a drop request to ExtendedLearning@mayvillestate.edu as soon as possible.

Fall 2014 classes officially begin Monday, August 25, at 4:00 p.m. (Central). Your Fall 2014 online classes will appear in Moodle beginning Monday, August 25, at 9:00 a.m. (Central). 


Checklist


Use this basic checklist to make sure you have read through all the relevant materials, submitted the right forms, and are logged in and ready for the semester to begin! If you have any questions on getting started, please feel free to contact the Mayville State Office of Extended Learning.


Degree Seeking Students


Continue to work with your advisor to process any course substitutions, if appropriate, for your program of study. Please review the Distance Student Handbook and How Do I” handout for further information on getting started as a Mayville State online/distance student.

Give your Mayville State email and Moodle access a test run prior to the start of classes. Moodle is Mayville State’s course management system, and where you will find the materials for your classes.  Your Fall 2014 online classes will appear in Moodle beginning Monday, August 25 at 9:00 a.m. (Central).   Fall 2014 classes officially begin on Monday, August 25, at 4:00 p.m. (Central). If you have a problem accessing your courses after August 25 or have any other technical questions, please contact Sheena Moe, Distance Programs Support Specialist, at 1-800-437-4104, ext. 34645.

Please be sure to check your Mayville State University email accounts at least three times per week.  All official communication from university departments (financial aid, business office, etc.) and instructors goes to your MSU email.

Please also take some time to practice Moodle and learn about being a Mayville State University Distance Student in the Distance Student Orientation course located within Moodle (MASU DSO--Distance Student Orientation).  This optional orientation is also available beginning Monday, August 18, and will appear in your list of Moodle courses.  It is not required and there is no cost associated with the Distance Student Orientation.  However, I encourage you to take some time to work through the orientation. 

 

Payment of Fee

You will NOT be sent a bill. Students are required to access their account information online through Campus Connection. To access Campus Connection, go to:  www.mayvillestate.edu. Then click on the Quick Links and Campus Connection.  If you do not know your Campus Connection username and/or password, call the Campus Connection Help Desk at 1-866-457-6387. Once you have logged in click on Campus Finances, then click on Account Summary by Term. The Balance for all Accounts is the amount due.  If you have financial aid, you can also view your Financial Aid Information and Award.  To setup a payment plan or if you have any questions regarding your financial account, please contact the MSU Business Office at 1-800-437-4104, ext. 34757 as soon as possible.  All Fall 2014 semester charges are due paid in full by September 10, 2014.

IMPORTANT--You will be responsible for total tuition and fees due, unless you take the steps necessary to officially drop classes by the established drop dates.  You MUST officially withdraw. 

September 3, 2014, is the last day to receive a 100% refund of tuition and fees for dropping classes.  After September 3, 2014, you will only receive a partial refund in the event you drop all your Fall 2014 Mayville State University courses.  Partial refunds for total withdrawals will only be given until November 4, 2014.

 

Important Withdrawal Dates

September 3, 2014:  Last day for no-record drop and a 100% refund of tuition and fees for semester-long classes

October 5, 2014:  Last day for a 75% refund of tuition and fees for totally withdrawing from semester-long classes

November 4, 2014:  Last day for a 50% refund of tuition and fees for totally withdrawing from semester-long classes

November 14, 2014:  Last day to withdraw from the term with record for semester-long classes
