The public is invited to join in celebrating with Scott Berry in recognition of his retirement and his 42-year career as head baseball coach at Mayville State University. Berry will retire at the conclusion of the current baseball season. A full day of celebration activities is planned on the campus of Mayville State University, Saturday, June 3, 2023.

The day will begin with tailgating and socializing on the west side of Jerome Berg field at 11 a.m., followed by an alumni game at Scott Berry Field at 1 p.m. All former players are encouraged to attend and/or play in a “last game” hoorah with Coach Berry. A formal program and special presentation will take place at 3 p.m. Ballpark food and refreshments will be served just outside the field at 5 p.m. The festivities will wrap up with a social at the Mayville Golf Course from 7 to10 p.m.

One of the foremost and highly respected baseball coaches in America, Scott Berry runs one of the most outstanding college baseball programs in the nation. A member of seven halls of fame and an active participant in local, regional, and national baseball organizations, Berry has kept Mayville State on the collegiate baseball map for more than four decades. In 2010, the baseball field at Mayville State University was named in his honor.
