Mayville State University, Mayville, N.D., offers several educational opportunities for students who wish to remain in the Bottineau area while earning a bachelor’s degree. These opportunities will be highlighted during an open house planned for Tuesday, August 11 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Alumni Center in Thatcher Hall on the campus of Dakota College at Bottineau, 105 Simrall Blvd., Bottineau, N.D.

A memorandum of understanding recently developed between Mayville State University and Dakota College at Bottineau paves the way for students to complete their initial course work, which varies, depending on the program, through Dakota College, then apply for admission to Mayville State University. These students may complete the requirements for the bachelor’s degree from Mayville State while remaining close to home, work, and family in the Bottineau area.

Mayville State’s Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Information Systems, Bachelor of Science in Education in Elementary Education, Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood, Bachelor of Science in Education in Early Childhood Education, and Essential Studies degree programs are included in the memorandum of understanding. Mayville State offers flexibility in the manner in which the courses are offered, which includes online and via interactive video.

Those who hold an Associate of Science, Associate of Arts, or Associate of Applied Science degree may already have met the requirements needed to enroll in the Bachelor of Applied Science programs in Business Administration and Computer Information Systems.

Several Mayville State University and Dakota College at Bottineau faculty and staff members will be available to discuss the opportunities and answer questions during the August 11 open house.
