The safety of all Mayville State students, faculty, and staff is the top priority as the coronavirus situation evolves. The Mayville State University president's cabinet members, emergency manager, and COVID-19 liaison are in constant communication about how to best protect the health and wellness of campus community and take proactive steps to help minimize the spread of this very serious illness. A COVID-19 restart task force made up of a cross section of faculty, staff, and students, along with a number of subcommittees of the task force continue to work to stay at the forefront of keeping the campus community safe and healthy.

It has been determined that the best way to stop the spread of the illness is social distancing. The virus that causes COVID-19 is a novel coronavirus that was first identified during an investigation into an outbreak in Wuhan, China.
