Game Summary
Mayville State University came up short in its first conference game of the season, falling to Dakota State University 79-59 on the road in Madison, S.D.
The Comets struggled from the field on the night, shooting 19-61 overall and 5-28 from three-point range to finish with a .311 shooting percentage. MSU and Dakota State each finished the game with 49 total rebounds.
Erin Ericson led the Comets in scoring with 17 points, Laura Taylor added 14 points, and Danielle Guilbert led MSU in rebounding with 14 total boards.
Dakota State finished with four players in double figures. Ellesse Washington led the team with 16 points and three others ended the game with 11 points.
The Comets are now 0-1 in conference play and 3-6 overall. They move on to play the University of North Dakota in exhibition play on Monday.
