Game Summary
The University of Minnesota-Crookston held off the Mayville State University women's basketball team to come away with a 74-70 win on Friday during an exhibition game in Crookston, Minnesota.
Laura Taylor scored a game-high 25 points and Danielle Guilbert added 18 to lead the way for the Lady Comets. Both players also finished with double digit rebounds to record double-doubles for MSU. Taylor grabbed 13 boards and Guilbert finished with 10.
Crookston outscored the Comets by 2 points in the first half and 2 in the second half in a game that saw the lead change hands several times.
The Comets finished the game shooting 39.3 percent from the field compared to the Golden Eagles' 41.3 percent from the field. Both teams shot 26 free throws in the contest with the Comets making 19 and UM-C making 15. The Comets outrebounded the Golden Eagles 43-39 in the game.
Mayville State University is currently 3-4 on the season and will return to action with another exhibition game on November 28 at Minnesota State University-Moorhead. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.
