In game two of the weekend series we saw more of the same as the Lady Comets came away with a 108-38 victory.

We were led in scoring by Freshman Laura Taylor with a game high twenty-one points. Taylor also had nine rebounds in the game off the bench for Coach Hutter. After Taylor the Comets had three girls score sixteen points with Sophomores Erin Ericson and Katelyn Peters as well as Senior Danielle Guilbert.

Bench production was big for the Lady Comets as the subs were able to come in and score sixty-nine points in the contest. Taylor and Peters lead the way with twenty-one and sixteen, respectively. Rounding out the scoring was Brittney Forsberg with nine, Kelli Boekelhide with seven, Misti Olson with seven, Betsy Smith with six, and Maddi Lamb with three.

Defense was a key for the Comets again tonight as we forced fifty-one turnovers in the contest. Leading the way in steals were Kelli Smart and Freshman Maddi Lamb with five steals each. Katelyn Peters, Danielle Guilbert, and Misti Olson each contributed with three of their own. Our defense was also able to hold CMU to shooting just thirty-three percent from the field.

The weekend sweep of the Blazers was impressive, but the weekend isn't quite over for our Lady Comets. We will play host the Brandon University on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at the Lewey Lee Fieldhouse. The Comets are now 2-0 on the 2009-2010 season.
