Game Summary
Mayville State University softball made it a sweep on Saturday with 4-2 and 10-2 wins over Dakota State University.
Morgan Bickell went the distance on the mound in game number one, striking out four and surrendering just five hits while cruising to a complete game victory.
Samantha Newman was the only Comet batter with more than one hit, going 2-3 at the plate. Lyndsi Maglish, Krista Hendricks, Marissa Olmo, Amanda Lara, Megan Martin, and Laura Kolness all had one hit each as the Comets finished with eight in the game.
The Comet bats woke up in game number two as MSU exploded for 10 runs on 12 hits. Ashley Kempenich started on the mound and gave way to Bickell after walking four batters. Bickell went the rest of the way striking out four and only giving up three hits in three and two-thirds innings of work.
Maglish led the way for the Comets with a 4-4 effort at the plate including two RBI. Newman was 2-3 at the plate and knocked in four runs for the Comets. Elizabeth-Best-Still was 2-3 with two runs batted in as well.
