Game Summary

Dakota State University came back from a halftime deficit to defeat the Mayville State University Comets 42-7 in a DAC matchup at Madison, S.D.

The Comets went into the halftime break with a 7-6 lead but couldn't hold off DSU's passing attack in the third and fourth quarters. Dakota State quarterback Paul Bagala connected for four touchdowns in the second half of play to lead the Trojans to a win.

Bagala finished the game 25-of-50 passing with 308 yards. Wes Dauz was the main target for Bagala, who caught 7 passes for 52 yards.

Tanner Carpenter stepped in at quarterback on Saturday and was 13-of-35 passing for 110 yards. The Trojans limited wide receiver Chris Williams to four catches and 14 yards on the day.

MSU running backs were held to 82 yards on 37 carries on the day.

The Comet defense was led by Clifton Krotz and Thomas Sly who finished the game with 9 tackles apiece. Four other Comet defenders finished with 5 tackles in the game.

MSU will play its final game of the 2009 season on Sunday, November 8th at the Dacotah Bank DAC Bowl in Fargo, N.D. The Comets will take on Dakota State University again with the kick off at 9:00 a.m.
