About Mayville State

MSU Basketball Camp Directors

Boys Camp Director - Justin Johnson
Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Mayville State University. Coach Johnson is in his second season as head coach and fifth season with the men’s basketball program. During Johnson’s time at Mayville State University, the men’s basketball team has been to three National Tournaments, an Elite Eight, and played for the NAIA II National Championship in 2007.
Girls Camp Director - Dennis Hutter
Dennis Hutter is in his first season as the Head Women's Basketball Coach at Mayville State University. Coach Hutter brings a tremendous amount of camp experience to the Mayville State Camps. During the past three years Coach Hutter was the assistant camp director the Southwest Minnesota State University basketball camps. During the SMSU camps Coach Hutter dealt with over 2,000 campers per summer as the SMSU camps were some of the largest in the Midwest. Coach Hutter was also an assistant camp director for the University of Minnesota Basketball camps, in the Twin Cities. Before coming to MSU, Hutter was an assistant women’s coach at SMSU for three years and the head girls coach at Centennial (MN) HS for three years.

The Mayville State University Basketball Camps have a tradition of excellence throughout the region. Our camps are designed to develop the overall skill level of each camper through individual skill development. We work in small groups so each camper receives individual attention from our coaching staff.

Our staff consists of some of the finest high school and college coaches in the region. MSU players will be camp counselors and demonstrators throughout the camp. The combination of individual skill development and our many contests and 5 on 5 games allow for a great blend of skill development and team concepts while gaining game experience versus quality competition.
