Annual North Valley (Hoople) – Comet Connection Golf Tourney is July 16
The annual Mayville State University North Valley (Hoople) – Comet Connection Golf Tournament will be held Thursday, July 16, 2009 at the Mayville Golf Course, Mayville, N.D. Registration begins at 11:00 a.m., and tee time is at noon. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. Awards and prizes will be presented at that time as well.

Mayville State Pembina County-Hoople Alumni Golf Tournament is July 30
The Mayville State University alumni of Pembina County-Hoople are hosting a golf tournament on Thursday, July 30, 2009. The four-person Texas scramble will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Cavalier (N.D.) Country Club. Registration is at 12:30 p.m. The tournament is open to men and women, and all are welcome to participate.

Big-name coaches coming to campus of Mayville State for first annual Comet Basketball Coaches Clinic
There will be plenty of highly recognized coaches around the campus of Mayville State University on Friday, May 29th as the first annual Comet Basketball Coaches Clinic gets underway at the Lewy Lee Fieldhouse in Mayville. Featured coaches include Don Meyer, Saul Phillips, Ben Jacobson, Pam Borton, and Carolyn DeHoff. The clinic will begin at 9:30 a.m. and run until approximately 7:00 p.m.

Mayville State University men’s basketball coach Justin Johnson is pleased to announce that David Slezak has signed a DAC letter of intent to compete for the Comets next season. Slezak is a 6’7”guard/forward who played at Snow College in Utah over the past two years.

Mayville State University men’s basketball coach Justin Johnson is pleased to announce that Brad Sand has signed a DAC letter of intent to play basketball for the Comets next season. Sand is a 6’5” post who competed at Minnesota State Community and Technical College in Fergus Falls, Minnesota this season.

Mayville State University men’s basketball coach Justin Johnson is pleased to announce that Jay Mercer has signed a DAC letter of intent to play basketball for the Comets next season. Mercer is a 6’3” wing who played at Clark College in Washington over the past two seasons.

Mayville State University men’s basketball coach Justin Johnson is pleased to announce that Toriano Madison has decided to compete for the Comets next season. Madison played the past two years at North Dakota State College of Science and was part of the Wildcats’ record setting team in 2008-09.

Kringlen was a standout at Win-E-Mac High School in Minnesota and played the past two seasons at Northland Community and Technical College.

Knox signs professional contract to play in Golden Baseball League
Former Mayville State University standout pitcher Dan Knox has signed a professional contract to compete for the Tucson Toros of the Golden Baseball League. During Knox’s senior season he was named 1st Team All-DAC, All-Region, and was named the Most Valuable Pitcher in the Dakota Athletic Conference.

Mayville State University men’s basketball coach Justin Johnson is pleased to announce that Andrew Anderson has signed a DAC letter of intent to compete in men’s basketball for the Comets next season. Anderson is a 6’4” forward who completed his high school career at Center-Stanton High School in North Dakota this year.
