It is our honor to welcome Small Town Big Deal and show hosts Rodney Miller and Jann Carl to Mayville State University and the Mayville-Portland community for Farmers Bowl 2021!

Rodney and Jann, along with the show producers will be recording highlights of Farmers Bowl for a future episode of Small Town Big Deal! The show airs nationwide and has more than a million viewers each week.

The Farmers Bowl is a celebration sponsored by the Mayville State University Foundation. Many community volunteers and MSU supporters work together to present this event that honors the proud agricultural heritage of the area.

Farmers Bowl 2021 Schedule of Events

Saturday, September 18


Ceremony of Remembrance at the Military Honor Garden - 9 a.m.
    Edson and Margaret Larson Alumni and Leadership Center

Come and honor our alumni and friends who have served their country that we may live in freedom and that again there may be "peace on earth, good will toward men." The names of all who have been honored with plaques in the Military Honor Garden will be read. The beauty of the garden will be enhanced by the Mayville American Legion Post's Avenue of Flags. Many thanks to the veterans who work hard to honor fellow veterans through their work with the Avenue of Flags.

Farmers Bowl Parade - 10 a.m.
   Downtown and through Mayville

The Farmers Bowl Parade is highly-anticipated by young and old alike. Don't miss out on the fun Saturday, Sept. 18! The parade will begin in downtown Mayville, west of the Goose River Bank, beginning at 9 a.m., and make its way through town. Please note: the parade route has changed slightly. The parade will go through the Mayville State campus before ending at Jerome Berg Field. Parade start time is 10 a.m.

Goose River Heritage Center Ice Cream Social - 10 a.m. to noon
 Goose River Heritage Center, downtown Mayville

Stop by and enjoy ice cream while learning more about the history of the area.

Corn and Hot Dog Feed - following parade (approximately 11 a.m.)
Outside Jerome Berg Field, Mayville State

Following the parade, everyone is welcome to enjoy corn on the cob and hot dogs. The Mayville State athletic teams are coordinating this year's feed. Freewill donations will be accepted to help defray expenses.

Family Fun Festival & Farmers Market 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
 Outside Jerome Berg Field, Mayville State

Families will enjoy bouncy houses, face painting, games, a dunk tank, obstacle course, and more! MayPort Farmers Market vendors will be set up with their homegrown and fresh-made products for sale.

Bookstore Open - 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Mayville State University Bookstore will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 18. Stop in and check out the latest in Comet gear! 

Farmers Bowl Football Game - 1:30 p.m.
   Jerome Berg Field, Mayville State

Catch the Comets in action versus Dickinson State University. Game time is 1:30 p.m. at Jerome Berg Field. Come out and cheer the Comets to victory as they sport their Farmers Bowl commemorative helmets! 

Comet Athletic Club Sportsmen's Raffle and
Farmers Bowl Silent Auction - 5 p.m.
   Norsemen Hall, 1100 Parke Ave, Portland, N.D.

The Comet Athletic Club will host their annual Sportsmen's Raffle in conjunction with Farmers Bowl again this year, but in a new location! The event will be held at the Norsemen Hall located along Hwy. 200 in Portland, N.D. The fun begins with socializing and a meal at 5 p.m. The raffle drawing will start at 7 p.m.  

First State Bank.pngSpirited bidding in the Farmers Bowl Silent Auction will add to the excitement of Farmers Bowl 2021! Watch this space for a listing of auction items coming soon. Proceeds of the silent auction will benefit the students of Mayville State through the Comet Athletics, the Alumni Association, and the MSU Foundation. Those who purchase a ticket in the Sportsmen's Raffle will receive admission, including the meal, for the Sportsmen's Raffle/Farmers Bowl Silent Auction event.

Lindaas Barn Dance - 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.
   735 153rd Ave. NE, Mayville, N.D.

Enjoy some down home family fun and old time music at a Mayville-Portland favorite, the Lindaas Barn Dance! Enjoy the music of the Cathy Erickson Band and local musicians. There is no admission charge, but freewill donations will be taken to help defray expenses.

The Lindaas barn is located at 735 153rd Ave. NE, Mayville. Two miles east of Mayville on Hwy. 200, then 1/4 mile north on Traill County Road 12.
