Position Details: 

Mayville State University is seeking applicants to fill the position of Academic Advisor. This positions reports directly to the Assistant Director of the Enrollment Center. As Academic Advisor, this position will serve as the academic advisor for a caseload of degree seeking students, provide direct support services for enrolled students, including new student transition and retention initiatives and serve as a contact for prospective and current students within the Enrollment Center as part of the strategic enrollment management process.

Required Competencies:

  • Ability to effectively, professionally and tactfully interact and communicate with students, faculty, and staff.
  • An understanding of the educational role of academic advising in enhancing student learning and development
  • Experience working in a self-directed, fast-paced environment

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience in program development and management
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in an educational environment or office setting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience in a higher education setting, with emphasis on academic and student support services
  • Familiarity with Mayville State University academic programs and/or academic programs within the North Dakota University System.
  • Experience advising or mentoring students
  • Experience working with underrepresented, at-risk, or other specific populations.
  • Experience in PeopleSoft, ConnectND, or Starfish.

Mayville State University is seeking applicants to join our campus community as Academic Advisor/Career Services Coordinator. This position reports directly to the Director of Academic Advising and serves in a dual role of both Academic Advisor (50%) and Career Services Coordinator (50%).

As Academic Advisor, this position will serve as the academic advisor for a caseload of degree seeking students, provide direct support services for enrolled students, including new student transition and retention initiatives and serve as a contact for prospective and current students within the Office of Academic Advising as part of the strategic enrollment management process.

As Career Services Coordinator, this position is responsible for the oversight for career-related programs and services (including development/promotion/access) including but not limited to, assisting identified exploring/deciding students and managing the centralized Internship program.

Position Details:  

Mayville State University has an opening for a temporary Boiler Operator.  Duties include: operation of high and low pressure boilers; operation of ventilation and air conditioning equipment; maintenance of all HVAC equipment; general maintenance; completion of all related logs and checklists required for documentation; provide excellent customer service.  Work schedule requires 24-hour rotation shift work that includes weekends and holidays. 

Required Competencies:

Job Description: 

Mayville State University is seeking a Dean of Student Affairs.  This position reports directly to the President and is responsible to provide administrative leadership on a broad range of non-academic programming and student services.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as a member of the President’s Cabinet.
  • Supervise and coordinate a student development program
  • Coordinate the academic advising program
  • Provide oversight for the institution’s enrollment management and retention programs
  • Provide oversight and direct involvement to ensure institutional compliance
  • Provide administrative support for students and their concerns and serve as Advisor to Student Senate.
  • Facilitate and support the on-going functions of student organizations on the MSU campus

Position Description:

The marketing student assistant will be responsible for taking photos of campus events, editing photos, assisting with social media content, and maintaining organized digital files for all social media images. This position will develop as the marketing plan develops and could include responsibilities not yet identified.  The main goal of this position is to help the marketing team create solid marketing materials that will entice potential students to look closer at MSU.

Tasks:

  • A lifeguard is responsible for the general supervision and safety of patrons of an aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies. 
  • Lifeguards are superior swimmers who are able to give advice on water safety to patrons, conduct swift water rescues and control unruly behavior if necessary.
  • Lifeguards are frequently the only staff member in the pool facility. Managing the pool area, including locker rooms and maintenance room/supplies, and the security of the area are components of the job.     Student Life hires Intramural Official, who are expected to provide a safe, enjoyable, service-oriented environment for customers/participants at all times. Intramural Officials are responsible for providing an atmosphere of fun in a competitive, yet safe, environment. Officials must be able to implement Intramural Sports policies and playing rules in order to maintain an appropriate level of control, fairness, and safety.     Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Officiate Intramural contests
    • Assist with pre- and post- game logistics and administrative functions

    Employment with this organization is of an "at will" nature, which means that the Employee may resign at any time and the Employer may discharge Employee at any time with or without cause. Employees are routinely removed from payroll systems at the end of the academic year. 

    Compensation and hours:

    The nature of Intramural seasons is this: there are weeks where an employee is busy two or three nights per week, there are weeks with no competitions. In general, Intramural employees work 0 - 8 hours per week, mostly during weekday evenings, and only occasionally on a weekend. First year Intramural Official earn $9.50/hour.
