Program Description
The Teacher Education Program at Mayville State University is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). Our conceptual framework theme is The Reflective Experiential Teacher. The theme is based upon established learning concepts that students develop and demonstrate in their coursework, field experiences, and student teaching. Candidates are taught to use a variety of research-based instructional strategies (e.g., cooperative learning; simulations; inquiry; problem-based learning; Socratic Questioning) as well as multiple performance-based assessment practices.

"The education department at Mayville State is wonderful. We get hands on experiences that really prepare us for the world of education. The faculty and staff of the education department are great to work with and are there for anything we need. We have a small school, but that means more time with each student, our professors really care about us. Our education department produces excellent teachers, what more could you ask for?"
