History

The Farmers Bowl Auction will be held for the 19th time in 2014. The first auction, held in 1997, raised more than $14,000. This amount has increased substantially over the years, as about $40,000 was taken each year for several years. In each of the last few years more than $60,000 was generated through all Farmers Bowl activities, including a cash raffle that has brought in up to $10,000. The proceeds of the auction and other Farmers Bowl fund-raising activities are administered by the MSU Foundation for the benefit of Mayville State University and its students.

You could win $500 just by attending the Farmers Bowl Auction!

Lindsey_business_card-web.jpgThanks to a sponsorship from Lindsey Brown of Pifer's Auction & Realty, those who attend the auction will have an opportunity to win $500 in a grand door prize. Brown, a 1991 Mayville State graduate, has chosen to give back to his alma mater in a special way. The winner of the $500 will be drawn from the admission ticket stubs of those in attendance at the auction. Lindsey is also sponsoring a raffle in which 100 $20 tickets will be sold for the chance to win $500!

The silent auction has a sponsor!

Alerus-web.jpgAlerus, an organization that offers banking, mortgate, retirement, and wealth management, will sponsor the silent auction this year. Their sponsorship will be a big boost to the proceeds of the auction, thus providing invaluable resources for Mayville State. The sponsorship was made possible with assistance from new MSU Foundation board member Tammy Adam, who graduated from Mayville State in 1993.
