Title III Grant

Title III is a Strengthening Institutions Department of Education Grant. Title III grants become change agents for institutions. Grants provide funding to take risks in developing what recipients feel are important to the institution’s future. Mayville State University was funded for a five-year project beginning October 1, 2007.

There are three general themes of the grant. 1. Student support services for residential and distance students 2. Professional development for faculty and staff 3. Distance education course development

More specific objectives include: increased headcount, retention and graduation rates; developing and implementing a comprehen-sive professional development system for faculty and staff; development of distance education courses to students beyond the MSU campus. The Title III activities will span over the five-years, focusing on both residential and distance activities. New programs, activities and opportunities will be developed to meet the objectives.
