Coaches vs. Cancer Awareness on February 13th to Benefit the Laurie & Scott Berry Family
The Mayville State University athletics department will take part in Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers awareness next Saturday, February 13th as the MSU basketball teams take on Black Hills State University at the Lewy Lee Fieldhouse. Proceeds from the event will go directly to the Laurie and Scott Berry family of Mayville. Laurie is a member of the faculty of the Division of Education and Psychology at Mayville State University. Her husband Scott is Director of Housing and Head Baseball Coach at Mayville State.
Tickets for a 50-50 drawing will be on sale throughout the women’s and men’s game and the drawing will take place during the second half of the men’s game. Donations can also be made throughout the evening in the front lobby of the Fieldhouse. If you would wish to send a donation through the mail, you can do so by sending a check to:

Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers awareness weekend is a collaborative initiative of the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). Participating NABC member coaches will wear sneakers instead of dress shoes with their suits during weekend games to demonstrate their support for the American Cancer Society and its vision of a world with less cancer and more birthdays. Basketball fans are also encouraged to wear sneakers to games that weekend to show their support.
