Eleven Mayville State University students were named students of the year during the annual Academic and Student Senate Awards Program held Wednesday, April 30, 2019. The program provides a time when students who have excelled in academics and leadership are honored.

Through the Student of the Year Award, the Mayville State University Student Senate annually honors those students who have made significant contributions to Mayville State by their involvement and participation in a variety of activities and organizations. Students may be nominated by faculty, staff, or fellow students. After completing a brief data form, each nominated student is interviewed by members of the Student Affairs Committee and final selections are made by that committee.

This year’s Student of the Year Award winners are Benjamin Myszkowski, Hatton, N.D.; Evan M. Kritzberger, Hillsboro, N.D.; Adam LaCrosse, Red Lake Falls, Minn.; Kellen Enget, Stanley, N.D.; Cory Norman, Mayville, N.D.; Sarah Scheitel, Larimore, N.D.; Kaitlyn Nelson, Grafton, N.D.; Meghan Foy, Grand Forks, N.D.; Marissa Schuldheisz, West Fargo, N.D.; Jacob Leier, Thief River Falls, Minn; and Creighton Pfau, West Fargo, N.D.

Other nominees for the Mayville State University Student of the Year Award in 2019 were Cole Dukart, Killdeer, N.D.; Laura Jacobson, Finley, N.D.; Levi Lemer, Drake, N.D.; Hannah Lemer, Drake, N.D.; Amber Anderson, Thompson, N.D.; Frida Nirvana Garcia Kjellan, Valley City, N.D.; McKenzie Groth, Hawley, Minn.; Ben Johnson, Northwood, N.D.; Daniel Lindgren, Enderlin, N.D.; and Kiana Johnson, Hector, Minn.
