Kathy Austvold, mobilization coordinator for Asian Justice Initiatives, will be at Mayville State University to discuss the opportunity to help trafficked and oppressed people of the world. The public is invited to take part in the discussion which will take place in the upper lounge of the MSU Campus Center Thursday, February 19 from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Mayville State Cru is sponsoring this event.

Items from Freedom Companies based in Calcutta will be available for purchase. There will be purses, book bags, headbands, journals, Sari blankets, and more. These items are made and sold by rescued and at-risk women.

Kathy works extensively with organizations in Asia and has just returned from a trip to Thailand, Cambodia and Laos. While there, she visited with anti-trafficking businesses. She also recently led a vision trip to Calcutta, India, which included Lin Arnegard, Denise Grinde, and Miranda Grinde from the Mayville-Portland area.
