team_jake_t-shirt.jpgThe Mayville State University women’s basketball and volleyball teams will be hosting a Cancer Awareness Night Saturday, Oct. 26, when both teams will be in action at home. Freewill donations will be accepted, and there will be a raffle of a basketball signed by women’s basketball team members and a volleyball signed by members of the volleyball team. In addition, “Team Jake” T-shirts are being sold for $10.00 each. All money raised will go to the Jacob Mueller Benefit Fund, to help Jacob and his family as he battles kidney cancer.

Jake Mueller, Mayville, N.D., is 19 months old and was diagnosed with Wilms tumor on Aug. 23. He had surgery to remove his left kidney Aug. 29, then began 19 weeks of chemotherapy treatment.

Mayville State women’s basketball will host Brandon University beginning at 4:00 p.m. in Mayville State’s Lewy Lee Fieldhouse. The Comets volleyball team will face Trinity Bible College at 6:00 p.m. at the Lewy Lee. Following the games, at 8:30 p.m., the Comet teams will host a social in the upper lounge of the MSU Campus Center. All are welcome!
