With 1,016 students enrolled, Mayville State University’s first-day fall semester headcount has topped the all-time record which was set on the first day of classes in the fall of 2012. This is the latest in Mayville State’s consistent trend in enrollment gains.

“We are elated that the hard work of our faculty and staff is paying off, and that more and more students are choosing to enroll at Mayville State University and take advantage of the tremendous opportunities we offer,” said Mayville State President Dr. Gary Hagen. “Our facilities have been greatly improved and new and innovative programs and modes of instructional delivery have been developed and implemented. These benefits, combined with our legendary brand of personal service, are helping to provide Mayville State students with fantastic experiences and outcomes.”

The first-day enrollment numbers are preliminary. Official final Fall Semester 2013 enrollment figures will not be computed until later in September, when all North Dakota University System institutions calculate final enrollment data.

Mayville State University, the nation’s first tablet PC campus, is a personable rural campus. Featuring technology-enriched education in which full-time, on-campus students are issued Tablet PC notebook computers, MSU is nationally identified for teacher education, the largest academic program on campus. The university recently instituted an integrated leadership program funded by the Edson and Margaret Larson Foundation. The purpose of the program is to build the leadership characteristics needed to prepare all Mayville State University students to become future leaders for North Dakota.
